Joe Torrence, Media Specialist

Joe is responsible for day to day operations and management of digital media at the UpNorth Media Center and provides assistance for volunteer productions. He also manages day-to-day operations. Joe holds a degree in Television and Digital Media Production from Ferris State University.


Matthew Kern, Production Assistant

Matt is the Production Assistant at the UpNorth Media Center. He is responsible for camera/studio operation, video editing, producing, and working with volunteers. He grew up in the Grand Traverse area, and has a deep love for the region's lakes, rivers, forests, and all of the creatures in them. Matt has a B.F.A. in Film and Television from the Savannah College of Art and Design.


Kim McNeil, Agent 99

Kim is responsible for all aspects of LIAA's accounting and financial operations, and assists with the GovernmentTV channel at the UpNorth Media Center. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Michigan Technological University, Kim was a Supervisor in the Tax & Audit Department for Plante and Moran for 10 years.


Rob Astor, Information Technology Specialist

Rob is a computer programmer responsible for database design and management, system integration, and the development of new user interfaces. Rob provides technology support for the UpNorth Media Center. He earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University and is a returned Peace Corps volunteer.


Jim Muratzki, Technology Director

Jim is LIAA's lead applications designer, Internet application trainer and technology integrator, and assists with the overall technical design of the UpNorth Media Center. He has earned two B.S. degrees from Michigan State University, one in Geography and one in Anthropology.
