Producers

Producers make Up North 2 happen by providing content for cablecasting.  Anyone who lives within the Up North 2 viewing region is welcome to become a Producer.  Depending on how involved you want to be in the actual creation of content for cablecasting, you can become several types of Producer:

A Producer is certified to bring in tapes, DVDs or digital files for cablecasting on Up North 2.  To become a Producer, you must attend a free 2 hour Orientation class that is offered periodically. This class provides basic information about the facilities and equipment, the Up North 2 Policies & Guidelines, and cablecast rules and regulations (e.g., existing laws, FCC regulations, Charter Communications).

A Field Producer is certified to check out Up North 2 production equipment (Cameras, Light Kits, Microphones, etc.), and use Up North 2 editing computers, in order to create your own show for cablecasting on Up North 2.  To become a Field Producer, you must first be a Producer, then take the Field Producer Certification class.

A Studio Producer is certified to use the Up North 2 studio to create a show for cablecasting on Up North 2.  To become a Studio Producer, you must first be a Producer, then take the Studio Producer Certification class.

If you were a tctv2 producer, then you do not need to take any additional classes.  Just fill out the Producer Update Form so we have current information about you in our database.  We have a refresher class available if you want to learn about the new processes and equipment at Up North 2.

If you have production training or experience from somewhere else, you may not need to take our certification classes to qualify as a Producer.  Please call us and make an appointment for a brief certification interview, and we can determine together how you can best work with Up North 2.
