Municipal Partners

The UpNorth Media Center receives a portion of its funding from local units of government that contribute a small percentage of the franchise fees (30%) collected from Charter Communications, Inc.  These funds are provided to LIAA under contract to assure that the UpNorth Media Center will provide citizens a locally operated, public access television station in cooperation with Charter Communications.  Additionally, the UpNorth Media Center is expected to provide direct video production services to the contributing municipalities.
