Making Media Available to Northwest Michigan

LIAA and the Northwest Michigan Community Media Center offices will be closed July 3rd in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

For the first time in three years, people will have the opportunity to watch the National Cherry Festival's DTE Energy Cherry Royale Parade live on TV! The Northwest Michigan Community Media Center will provide official parade coverage on Up North 2, the region's only public access television station.

The NMCMC will also produce a morning talk show, "The Pit Stop," throughout the entire Cherry Festival. President Mary Marois and executive director Tim Hinkley will highlight each day's events along with the show's host Susan McQuaid. Guests will include many of the volunteers that make the Cherry Festival possible as well as the 2009 National Cherry Queen, Megan Umulis.

Up North 2 will cablecast "Live at the Cherry Royale Parade" on Saturday, July 11th beginning at 11am.

"The Pit Stop" will be cablecast on Saturday, July 4th through Friday, July 10th at 7am and 10am.

Certified Up North 2 Producers can now have their own page on the Community Media Center website!  These Producer Profiles will help Producers share their skillsets, current projects and ideas with other Producers and organizations looking for production help.
